Air Freshener

Fan-Driven Air Freshener

Patent Abstract
An air freshener that has a source of air freshening chemical with a fan that is controlled either by an optical device that senses light or a motion detector is disclosed. When a light is turned on or motion is detected, the fan will be activated for a predetermined time period. In certain embodiments, the fan will stop turning after a predetermined time. In certain preferred embodiments the source of air freshening chemical is disposed beneath the fan and allows fragrance to be delivered over time without the fan. The additional airflow provided by the fan causes more volatile fragrance chemicals to be removed from the source of air freshening chemical and admitted into the environment. Preferably, a microprocessor controls the fan so that a "burst mode" is created by controlling the frequency and intensity of the pulses of air freshener that are emitted. Also disclosed is a system for delivering a volatilized chemical integrated into a robotic vacuum cleaner. A reservoir of volatile chemicals, such as a fragrance, is volatized and exhausted by the fan stream through an exhaust duct. As the robotic vacuum cleaner carries out its automated routine, it adds a scent, antibacterial chemical or other chemical to the surface being cleaned, e.g., carpeting.

Air-freshener for a vehicle, particularly for a motor vehicle

A vehicle interior air freshener comprises a housing adapted for mounting adjacent to an air outlet through which air flows into a vehicle interior. The housing includes an air admission opening for receiving air from the air outlet into the housing interior; an air outlet opening included in the housing in fluid communication with the air admission opening. A receptacle is carried by the housing containing a scent substance for dispersement into the vehicle interior. A dosing device is carried with the housing for dispensing a predefined scent charge from the receptacle. An intermediate reservoir element is carried between the air admission opening and the air outlet opening so that an air stream colliding with the intermediate reservoir element entrains the scent substance and flows through the air outlet opening. The dosing device being disposed a distance from the reservoir element and manually actuatable to dispense the scent charge onto the reservoir element upon actuation.

Patent Claims

Handheld vacuum with accelerated cyclonic flow and air freshener

A hand held vacuum having a tapered centrifugal chamber as its primary filter. The tapering causes the air stream within the centrifugal chamber to accelerate as it moves toward the distal end. The air steam will be able to retain more debris at higher speeds, thereby improving the efficiency of the centrifugal chamber. This will also keep more of the debris in the vicinity of the distal end of the centrifugal chamber and away from its outflow aperture. An air freshener in a filter housing is also provided. The air freshener will sublimate into the passing air stream and be emitted with the exhaust from the vacuum and/or any odor causing particles that may be in the air stream will be absorbed by the air freshener. The filter will prevent any dust and debris in the airstream from adhering to the air freshener and impeding its effectiveness.

Machine that is an automatic pesticide, insecticide, repellant, poison, air freshener, disinfectant or other type of spray delivery system

Automatic pesticide, insecticide, repellant, poison, air freshener, disinfectant or other spray-type delivery systems are proposed for automating the delivery of these items to areas, for controlling pests easier, for improving environmental conditions, and for making it easier to freshen the air and to disinfect areas. The device includes a logic circuit and mechanisms containing a circuit that will enable a user to program the device to discharge a spray of its poison, disinfecting or air freshening spray(s) at a pre-selected time interval or day/time interval chosen in the unit's memory. An electromechanical valve opens to let contents escape when the spraying mechanism of the system is activated. The valve connects to a pressurized spray cylinder and it releases a controlled burst of insecticide, pesticide, repellant, disinfectant, and or air freshener as programmed. Control circuits allow the user to set when the system goes off.
